Cargo webbing is used for a variety of binding, cargo nets, seat belts, etc., but the fabric manufacturing is different. Polyester webbing and nylon ribbon are two major categories, as well as the industry known as the seat belt of another polyester fabric ribbon. While all three may look similar, some of the differences in some applications will be better than the other.

Nylon Webbing
The nylon webbing provides a good combination of stretch and strength. Can be stretched at rated capacity of 5% to 7%, breaking strength of about 30%. The quality of this snap-back makes the nylon fabric as an ideal choice for recovery belts because it can restore the truck.
Polyester Webbing
Like nylon webbing, polyester webbing is rugged, but lacks the same way as nylon. This makes it very suitable for strapping applications where the goods must be kept safe and are not allowed to bounce: ratchet belts, motorcycle straps, cargo networks and so on. Polyester webbing is also common, and you can add your own bundled hardware to create your own custom straps.
Seatbelt Webbing
Seatbelt webbing is also a polyester webbing so it offers the same benefits of strength and little stretch. While still a tough, high-quality webbing, it is a less expensive option because it’s offered in just one size and three color options. Seat belt webbing also has a thinner profile than typical polyester cargo web, so it’s great for lighter duty applications such as bag handles, life jacket straps, etc.
